We are happy to announce the 2010 collaborative forum between the Faculty of<\/b><\/span><\/p>\nFine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand and URP<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0& UCRC of Osaka City University, Japan. \u00a0This forum aims to create a space<\/b><\/span><\/p>\nfor graduate students and scholars to share their research in visual art,<\/b><\/span><\/p>\ncreative art, performance studies, dance, cultural studies, ethnomusicology,<\/b><\/span><\/p>\nand related disciplines connected to the study of academic and vernacular<\/b><\/span><\/p>\ninterpretation of urban culture through arts.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\nThis year’s forum seeks to explore the following questions:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n1. What are the social challenges in urban communities calling for<\/span>
\ninnovative solutions across the arts and creative spaces?<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>2. How do we engage the various players and sectors of the arts world to<\/span>
\nunite and coordinate their efforts to play a more integral role in city<\/span>
\ndevelopment?<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>3. How do we build creative, sustainable and inclusive communities in urban<\/span>
\nand suburban environments?<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>4. How can new media and alternative media and forms and new forms of<\/span>
\nartistic expressions open new spaces for transformation?<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>5. How can the arts world build partnerships with youth clubs, schools,<\/span>
\ncivil society, media and city governments to support initiatives for<\/span>
\ncreative community development?<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
